Towards energy transition: two Epta projects selected in the ADI INDEX 2022

Each year, Associazione per il Disegno Industriale (ADI) identifies the best Italian design solutions with the ADI DESIGN INDEX.

This year, Epta signs two of the projects selected: HEALTHY, by Massimiliano Mandarini, and Axis, the counter fridge proposed by Iarp. The perfect marriage of design and energy efficiency.

Energy efficiency and design in refrigeration

Speaking of industrial design immediately turns on a light bulb: Premio Compasso d’Oro ADI, the oldest but above all the most authoritative worldwide award of the sector, brainchild of Gio Ponti.

A competition for which the products of the ADI DESIGN INDEX are automatically preselected.

Grabbing the attention of the permanent Design Observatory also means visibility among the wider public and B2B customers. Publication in one volume and on the dedicated web page as well as the possibility of participating in exhibitions, makes the ADI INDEX a highly prestigious showcase.

Energy transition for greener and more comfortable environments

As Cultifutura partner and thanks to the participation of Giorgio De Ponti, Product Strategy Manager of the Group, Epta contributes to the realisation of the sustainable, circular, plastic free and off-grid urban oasis HEALTHY and earns itself a place in the INDEX. The project, presented at Fuorisalone 2021 in the SuperStudio + area, was designed for the Exhibition Design, Retail and events sector. The installation promotes a new way of designing environments, temporary or permanent, more comfortable and in line with the goals of the green transition.

It has to do with creating almost pleasant locations, merging wellness and the need to reduce the waste of raw materials and refuse, plastic, and emissions. In response to the climate changes and to the New Normal post-Pandemic, a space has been created to take care of self, re-establishing the right synergy between nature and human intervention. The various solutions include CultEvo which stimulates food self-sufficiency inside the structure and quality of life indoors through the cultivation of aromatic herbs, salads, and microgreens.

Axis, much more than a counter fridge

Axis, a plug-in which, besides being published on the Index, will also be presented at the exhibitions organised in Rome and Milan by the same industrial design Institute, is also awarded alongside HEALTHY.

Axis is the result of a long and proven collaboration between the Group and the Polytechnic design school of Milan.

Designed for the Food&Beverage and Ho.Re.Ca sector, the innovative solution by Iarp is the first technology in the world to have three different adjustable temperatures and to be able to host, alternatively and depending on need, hot, cold or frozen products, promoting at the same time the sale of different kinds of products in the same furnishing. In short, infinite possibilities for self-service display, to vary based on the customer or time of the day.

Maximum visibility and aesthetics merge with sustainability, using propane as natural refrigerant.

Already awarded by the Innovation Product Competition assigned in Budapest, arriving third, the Iarp plug-in with three temperatures is pure eco-friendly innovation.

It is an important milestone to be in the ADI INDEX selection once again. It means fitting into a prestigious setting and standing out in industrial design with technologies that look to the future, with the utmost respect for the environment.
