FREEDOM OF CHOICE: THE COOPERATION BETWEEN ETPA AND SIRAP PRODUCES THE IARP-BRANDED LONDON MEAL

Ensure healthy nutrition, whilst contributing to a reduction in food waste: these are the principles that have guided Epta and Sirap – one of the most qualified producers of containers for fresh food in Europe – in creating the innovative solution London Meal, previewed at Seeds & Chips, The Global Food Innovation Summit, scheduled from 6 to 9 May in Milan (Pav. 12-8)

In line with the focus of the event, which calls for an exercise of reflection on one of the key global challenges, namely to promote sustainable nutrition within the framework of climate change, Epta has created London Meal. It is an ad hoc release of the London vending machine of the Iarp City Collection, dedicated to the display and sale of single portions inside Sirap Meal8 packaging, which guarantees maximum food safety.

The vending machine is designed to adapt to different contexts, from shopping centres to public facilities, hospitals, and other common spaces and allows customers to choose a balanced and tasty meal, complete with condiments, a beverage of their choice and cutlery. Meal8 is the result of an in-depth study conducted by Sirap to propose a personalised and nutritionally balanced menu, mixing the ingredients of the modulable components which comprise 2/8 wholemeal cereals, 2/8 protein and 4/8 vegetable fibres, ideal to respond to every taste, from the more traditional to the foods of the future, with recipes that include, for example, quinoa, soy or goji berries.

London Meal presents itself as a system able to contribute to the promotion of conscious nutrition and reduce food waste: the division into different packages ensures that expiry dates are optimised, according to the type of food, taking full advantage of the useful life of every product.

Other elements that bear witness to how the attention to the environment is a key factor behind the partnership between Epta and Sirap, the London Meal vending machine uses propane, a natural gas with a low environmental impact as a refrigerant, it presents LED lighting and the PET material of the trays, composed of more than half by R-PET, namely recycled PET.

Finally, like all Iarp solutions, London Meal sets itself apart for extreme aesthetic personalisation, guaranteed by innovative digital print, directly on sheet metal, to increase the appeal of the solution and attract the attention of customers.
